Movies, Music and More

Movies and music and their biggest stars fill the pages of StarStudio this
November!

It starts with the movies as we bring you Star Cinema’s “Fab Four”—Piolo
Pascual and Angel Locsin and the comic tandem of Vhong Navarro and Toni
Gonzaga. The four topbill two forthcoming Star Cinema productions: Land
Down Under and My Only U.

In “Charmed Land”, Piolo and Angel talk about their experiences filming in
Bukidnon, with exclusive behind-the-scenes photos. You can even win a trip
to the US for two in the special promo “Fly Away to L.A. with Piolo and
Angel”.

Meanwhile, Vhong and Toni, whose last movie together was Star Cinema’s D’
Anothers in 2005, reunite in My Only U. The super-charged comedy tandem is
poised to bring us another box-office hit. StarStudio revisits Vhong and
Toni and tries to see what makes them—and their onscreen
relationship—click.

Representing the indie film scene is indie film sensation Coco Martin.
Coco, the crown prince of indie films, shares anecdotes and photographs
detailing his rise to fame and the special moments in his career, from his
first trip abroad to his recent red carpet turn at the Cannes Film
Festival.

StarStudio also helps you get ready for the 2008 Cinema One Originals Film
Festival. This year, seven independently-produced films compete for the
acting awards and technical honors to be given out at the Cinema One
Originals 2008 Awards Ceremony on November 28 at ABS-CBN’s Dolphy Theater.

The music parade kicks off with a 12-page special celebrating the 13th
anniversary of Star Records. StarStudio joins the happy party by bringing
you the inside story on the company’s rise, interesting trivia (do you
know which Star Records artist regularly buys souvenir magnets when he
goes abroad?), the songs, the awards and more!

Also celebrating his own milestone in the industry is Gary Valenciano, who
talks about the five major decision points he faced and how he got through
them in “Silver Streak”.

Enjoy these and more exclusive stories and photos in the November issue of
StarStudio, the Philippines’ largest-selling entertainment magazine, now
out in the market at P85 per copy.

Brace yourselves this August

This August, StarStudio Magazine joins TV fans in welcoming to Manila one of the world’s most beloved television icons.

In one of its thickest issues ever—packed with more than 100 pages —SSM unveils the behind-the-scenes story on ABS-CBN’s new Primetime Bida bet, I Love Betty La Fea, with 12 pages of exclusive pics, info and trivia! Meet her family, her officemates and the other people who make her world go ‘round. StarStudio also includes features on Ruffa Gutierrez, who takes on the role of Betty’s fashionable tormentor Daniella, and her BBB (best boy bud) Nicolas, played by Vhong Navarro.

At the center of it all is our Betty, Bea Alonzo. Handpicked for the role from among several Kapamilya actresses (who included Valerie Concepcion, Mariel Rodriguez, and even Anne Curtis), Bea undergoes another magical transformation as she takes on the part of the not-so-pretty secretary with a heart of gold.

Get the inside story on how Bea changed her looks for the role, and other information, including an update on the search for the actor who will play Armando to Bea’s Betty.

Claudine Barretto also makes a big comeback to television (and the pages of StarStudio) this month as she stars in Iisa Pa Lamang, a grand primetime drama series that also marks the return of Gabby Concepcion to television drama.

But that’s not all: StarStudio’s August 2008 issue goes glamorous and hot at the same time with a 10-page feature on the 2nd Star Magic Ball and man of the moment, the sizzling hot Dingdong Dantes.

Fast becoming one of the most glamorous events in showbiz, the event celebrated 17 years of Star Magic. StarStudio brings you behind-the-scenes photos of the glamorous gowns, pairs, power people and stories straight from the red carpet.

Dingdong Dantes talks about his rise from the boy-next-door to one of today’s hottest actors and celebrity endorsers.

To round out the month of August, feast on more than 200 photos of the stars’ parties, travels, and special moments. And join brothers Rayver and Rodjun Cruz as they open their home for the first time in the feature, Casa de Cruz in the magazine’s StarHome section.
